Tired of going to the video store with the kids to rent those ever-popular video games? Many new services have cropped up in the last few years that make this parental ritual, and the late fees that go along with it, a thing of the past.
Going online to rent a video game is a great way to eliminate another errand and keep the kids happy. You never have to go any further than your mailbox, and you can keep the games until the kids are tired of them or beat them (whichever comes first).
Several services like Gamefly, Numbthumb and RentZero have begun serving this lucrative market, and the number of companies joining them is growing monthly. The concept is simple and convenient.
The services work more like a subscription than a video rental store. You select several games (up to 50 at Gamefly) that you would like to rent sometime in the future. These are placed in a lineup, or queue, that you will receive. Then, you’ll consult the kids and see how many at a time they want to receive. With this information, you’ll choose the subscription plan that you want. You can choose to receive one, two or three games at a time, with monthly fees that depend on the number selected. Most range from about $15.00 per month to $35.00 per month.
Your service will send the game(s) out to you along with prepaid envelopes for their return. They’ll arrive in your mailbox and you’ll need to carry them into the house. That’s it! No arguments at the video store, no chasing kids up and down the halls, no “out of stock” problems.
Once the kids (or significant other) has enjoyed the game, you simply drop it into the postage paid envelope and put it in a mailbox. When the company receives it, they send out the next game on the list. You keep the game as long as you want.
The queue is flexible as well. Game selection can be updated on the internet, and changes to the list take effect right away. The kids can make as many modifications as they want.
All of the plans have options to purchase a game that the kids just can’t seem to get enough of, and most charge pre-played game prices. However, most folks seem to enjoy trying as many games as possible each month, and you can always re-queue a game that you love.
Turnaround time is a factor, so consider where the game rental company is located. The closer you are to the mailing center, the sooner they’ll receive your returns and you’ll get your new games. Most of the plans average about 6-7 days from the time you mail your game back to when the new one is received, but that means you could try 4 games a month for each game subscription you get.
If you don’t like investing hundreds of dollars on games that you haven’t tried, or if you’re just too lazy to trudge to the video store each week, online video game rental services may be for you.

Toddler Computer Games For Starters
There is a huge variety of games for toddlers out there that are easy on their hands, interactive, and very educational while at the same time entertaining. The old games that you use to see being played by parents with their child on their laps are games that you would not be playing now once you see the selection.
When choosing a good toddler computer game, pick one that will be engaging for the child and entertaining also for the adult. Toddler computer games are supposed to be played with the parents as an initial guide that graduates to the child playing the game alone. They must provide both fun to the parent as well as the child. Toddler games must be easy to start, can be paused anytime, it must have colorful graphics without scary and bloody episodes and preferably, should be customizable.
Computer software today is not really that inexpensive. As much as possible, you would not like experimenting with a CD only to find out in the end that what you bought is not appropriate. If you are one of the parents that wants to provided one for your toddler but are not sure how, you can click to any games website. The websites, aside from the games listing, also provide a brief description of a game that might catch your interest.
You can also try shareware or trialware. The advantage is that you can try out first before buying the full version.
Toddler computer game CD's will provide you a glimpse at the graphics and the general theme of the game although in a limited level only. However it will be enough to guide you by trying out a game first before deciding to buy one. There are also free games that are available on the public domain. The toddler computer games here may not be a new version. But oftentimes they are just as good especially when starting to hunt for a toddler computer game CD.
Or you can try the following toddler computer game CD's.
Worlds of Xeen: this is a great game for small children. It is colorful and executed in the style of cartoons. The monsters in it are lovable characters and not in a bit scary. The quests are simple enough for toddlers to understand. Children above years old though may enjoy the game better because it is not customizable even with a hex editor. It also has more complex controls that may not fit the patience of younger preschoolers.
Wizardry Gold - This is also a fighting monster kind of game. The plot may be a little bit complicated but toddlers enjoy opening up chests and moving along countryside in search for the monsters. This toddler computer game like the worlds of Xeen is very kid friendly. No gore and bad language. It is very customizable. Even the stats can be tweaked so the monster will not die.
Siberia - this toddler computer game is a modern graphic adventure. It has an easy plot and puzzles that could be absorbing to little children. There is no violence and skimpy dressing.
Other games you want to try:
The Omega Stone, Mystery of the Mummy, Chemicus, Physicus, Myst, Wizardry 8, Katamari Damacy.

Rent Video Games Save Yourself Time and Money
The ability to rent video games from home without leaving the house has always been a true dream of mine. Not only does renting video games online keep you busy, but it can be very satisfying knowing you can rent as many titles as you want at anytime and generally receive them within a day or two.
Here are some Video Game Rental Statistics you might find interesting:
•"U.S. consumers spent $633.6 million renting video games in 2001, and a record-breaking $6 billion buying video game software (including PC software)."
But why are people renting video games instead of buying? I guess I can’t say gamers are not buying video games.
“The U.S. computer and video game software sales grew four percent in
2004 to $7.3 billion -- a more than doubling of industry software.”
But why rent games? I would estimate that people rent for 4 primary reasons.
1.The convenience
2.Its cheaper
3.Able to test games
4.Time sensitive
Convenience is truly a luxury worth having these days. People are looking for ways to save time and effort. Everything these days has to be fast and easy. Online video game rental companies provide that and much more. First of all and most important they deliver the game right to your front door. No more wasting your gas going to your favorite rental store, only to find out that the game you wanted is no longer available and won’t be available until you make that drive again. Gas is too expensive these day, who wants to spend all that money driving to a video store when you can easily accomplish the same task on your home computer?
Second of all it’s simple alot cheaper. The average video store charges from $4.00 to $6.00 dollars per video game rental. That could get expensive, specially if you’re renting numerous titles per week. Most of the well known game rental clubs like GameFly, Gottaplay, Intelliflix and RentZero only charge $12.95 to $19.95 per month for unlimited video game rental. So let’s say you rent 2 titles per week at the local video store. That equal around $30.00 dollars per month compared to $12 to $13 dollars per month with the online alternative. This is a large savings at the end of the month.
Now here is the greatest part. Have you ever purchased a video game and just hated it. You can’t just return the game, you’re stuck or you have to exchange it in for store credit. So you just have to suck it up and move on to the next game, which might not live up to your standards. Renting video games online gives you the chance to test the game first before you purchase. The companies will even allow you to purchase the games at discount rates and just keep the game if you enjoy it that much.
You can keep the games as long at you like just pay the monthly fee. If you want to play 6 to 7 games a month or more you can just pay the one time monthly fee and be done with it. You don’t even have to pay for postage. That’s a deal that I can get use to.

Gamers Be Aware
For many years, games of all sorts have been entertaining. Many times they are even addicting. We aren’t talking board games here but the world of your favorite pc games, video console games and now mobile phone games. It seems that we have a never satisfied appetite for the latest and greatest game. Its not just teens either. Everyone wants a great game to play when they have a moment to do it. But, having time to get online or to pull out the game box is just so limited.
For those who enjoy gaming, there are a number of excellent ways that you can get your hands on the games that you want whenever you want them. For example, an extraordinary way to have games at your fingertips no matter where you are is to get them on your mobile phone. Believe it or not, this exciting method of gaming is becoming quite popular. And, why shouldn’t it? Players want games with graphics, sounds and action and that is just what they can get through their mobile phones now.
Taking a closer look, you will also see that games have become easier to get a hold of as well. Pay a service fee that is close to nothing and you are in. One of the passions of gamers everywhere is having the newest and greatest options available to them. That’s hard to do without blowing your budget though. As a gamer, you want access to the best games, all the time and on your phone so you can play when you have time to no matter where you are. Having the ability to play on the bus, waiting for the guys to come over or at the doctor’s office even doesn’t have to be boring when you can download games right onto your phone to play. The good news is that time and technology has arrived.

The Modern MMORPG
The massively multiplayer online genre is relatively new. Games such as World of Warcraft offer things that players could previously only dream of. The game's scope, complexity, and variety of options dwarf everything that has come before. The monthly fee based structure gives companies the financial base to continue development, expanding existing games with more content, higher levels, and added complexity. Keeping these games fresh is the greatest challenge faced by mmorpg designers.
When a new mmorpg comes out, the sheer volume of content in front of a player can seem overwhelming. Time invested leads to incremental gains in resources, represented generally by improvements in various abilities and the quality of available gear. Players will progress through content at varying rates, depending on how much time they spend and what parts of the game they enjoy. Eventually, generally after several months of play, a significant portion of the player base will begin to exhaust the content of a game. This often coincides with the release of newer games that compete for player's attention. Given that most players can only find the time and/or money to support one mmorpg habit, this can lead to attrition of your highest involvement players. It is somewhat of a contradiction that the intensity with which a player approaches a game also determines how quickly he will exhaust available content.
We pause here a moment to discuss the fallacy of the "casual" player. Much is made of this type on various message boards, particularly how they are underserved by the designers of one mmorpg or another in favor of "hardcore" players. The reality is, as always, much more complex. First, there are not two separate but equal camps of gamer. Like any social phenomenon intensity of play exists on a continuum. One player may log on for a few hours one night a week while another does little else. The majority of players, however, are somewhere in between. Think of a bell curve (perhaps one slanted somewhat toward the plays too much end, but that's a topic for another week.) Secondly, even if there were a large audience of casual players at the extreme low end of the continuum they wouldn't need additional content. By their very definition, they can never hope to move through a game with the scope of any modern mmorpg at its inception, much less move on to additional areas afterward. Development, then, is rightly focused on providing content to those players who are most, if not all, of the way done with everything previously released.
The basis for competition between mmorpgs is both feature based and experiential. Every mmorpg has a customer base they wish to keep. They would also like to acquire some number of customers from other mmorpgs as well as a share of new customers. Competition for new customers is basically like normal game competition. Gamers compare games based on graphical and audio features, playability, and thematic considerations. Competing with other games for your own customers, however, is markedly different. A player likely has a large amount of time and money invested in their game of choice and may have built up a significant social base within the game world. This represents a significant competitive advantage, almost to the degree that the features of other games don't matter as much as satisfaction with the current game. If players can be convinced that there will continue to be new interesting things to do, particularly things that are meaningfully different from previous content, then they will stay simply because of the cost of switching.

The X Box 360 Gaming Revolution
The Xbox 360 is one of the most important products for Microsoft this year and it has your living room squarely in its sights. It has even been described as the second coming of Sega's Dreamcast! This new Xbox is smaller than the original and its wireless features, along with its stylishly concave shape, make it fit nicely into the living room, a very welcome change from the standard X Box. In fact, it’s about 20% smaller than the original and the console can either rest on its end or on its side. The sides are “sucked in” and the power button is oversized and surrounded by a ring of glowing green light. Finally, the color of the console is a soft white, compared to the harsh black color of the original that really made it stand out.
As far as the technology the X Box incorporates, all of its hardware is custom-made from the ground up. It also features a custom graphics chip designed by NVIDIA, which is not entirely dissimilar to the GeForce 3. This graphics chip is the most powerful of any other game console. As you may know, graphics-intense applications such as video games are in fact mathematically-intense applications so the graphics chip of a game console can perform is of crucial importance to the gaming performance it can deliver. In fact, the whole purpose of graphics chips is to aid in the mathematical computations so if for example a circle needs to be drawn, the processor passes the circle’s center and radius to the graphics chip and the graphics chip does all the computations, rather than have the processor create the circle’s surface pixel by pixel. What the X Box does is delivering PC-level processing power to your living room. Far more than a game console, the X Box 360 is in fact, a total media center.
So how exactly is that PC-level power integrated in what looks like a game console? Well, first of all, it uses MTEC technology to liquid cool the hardware, so as to avoid noisy fans. CoolIT, the vendor of X Box 360 cooling system claims it’s a unique solution that gives more stable performance and better temperatures. The X Box also has a built-in hard drive used to save games and download goodies off of Xbox Live. As you might have guessed, it also features an Ethernet connection port which gives it built-in broadband capability. It also supports wireless connectivity for up to 4 different controllers. The controllers can actually act as full remote controls and turn the X Box on and off. Apart from that, the device also has three USB ports and three memory slots, with memory units starting at 64MB.
As far as what games you can play on the X Box 360, Electronic Arts announced the largest commitment in its history to Xbox 360. Other key industry publishers announced that there are more than 160 X Box 360 games already in development! These new X Box 360 games, Microsoft says, will be making better use of the X Box 360’s advanced video and audio capabilities. It also seems that while PS3 games will be at around $80, X Box 360 games are at around $50! Currently, most X Box 360 games are ports from the standard xbox and don’t fully utilize the console’s advanced capabilities. Even the first crop of X Box 360 games is expected not to take full advantage of some of X Box 360’s features.

Mass Casters With Flying Planes
In Warcraft, one of the best strategies for humans are mass caster. Combined with blizzard, stormbolt and thunder clap it can annihilate virtually all opposition.
Against ghoul, I sort of like storm bolt though. Storm bolt kills the enemy one at a time. Combined with bash, you can keep a metamorph demon hunter dizzy for the whole battle.
However, this strategy has one weakness. What about if enemies use a lot of air unit?
Mountain king is always my last hero. Meanwhile, I always sacrifice a peasant or two to check out what enemies are building. If enemies are building a lot air units, it's time to beef up your troops with flying machine.
Combination of flying machines, which is an anti air counter, with mass casters are awesome.
The sorceres can slow or even polymorph many expensive unit. while your flying machines attack the annoying hypogrhyp raider.
Can this be countered? One guy beat me up with a lot of hypogrhyp riders and chimera. That's the only way I know how to beat it.
I can combine this strategy with double expansion strategy. However, I find it more useful not to build expansion.
So, quickly build altar, farm, and make peasants untill your food is 18. Build lumber mill and tower.
Then upgrade your town hall. Harass enemies if necessary. You can use water elemental or blizzard.
If there fountain of manna you can use both blizzard and water elemental.
Then build priests, sorceres, and paladin. Quickly upgrade your town hall to castle.
Scout with your peasants. Check out his enemies. If it's ground unit, keep pumping out casters. If it's flying, then quickly build blacksmith and 2-3 workshops.
