If you talk to the owner of a game arcade these days, he will tell you that the business is not as lucrative as it used to be. We all have in mind this glamorous image of the game arcade, with a beautiful display of flash games coming in different colors and shapes, one more appealing than the next. But things aren't what they used to be because it is now easier and cheaper to play free games online.
You can imagine the excitement of the children who used to gather the money they needed to go play a game at the arcade. You can even imagine a young couple going out on a date in a parlor where they could have fun just trying out all the flash games. The flash games do have something magical about them. They drag you out of the daily life giving the impression that you are in a huge Hollywood show or in a casino in Las Vegas. The flash games are meant to attract you towards them, to make you try them out, one by one, or at least to take a look at the others playing them. They have something of the magic of the roulette.
However, the game parlors are no longer what they used to be because they are no longer "the only game in town", so to speak. Nowadays we have the Internet which can provide anything. Playing games online means you can play all the games that you used to be able to find only in the parlors and some other new ones as well. If you have a computer with internet at home, you do not even have to get out of the house. You can find all the games online.
In fact, it is not just the fact that people do not have to go out of the house to play the games anymore. Playing games online is so appealing that it keeps people indoors. Apart from the children or teenagers who do not have a computer at home and are obliged to go to an Internet cafe to play games online, most people find it more appealing to stay at home and play the games online. Imagine yourself getting out of bed, preparing a breakfast and being able to enjoy the morning by starting to play the games online, without even having to get out of your pyjamas. Some people end up spending entire days and nights in front of the computer playing games online.
On the other hand, there are a lot of young people and children who go to the Internet cafes and spend entire days fascinated by the games online. They can do this because their parents are happy to get them out of the house and have a little peace and quiet. They get to spend their energy somewhere far from the ears of the tired family. So, leaving your children to play games online acts as some sort of modern baby sitter. The only question that remains to be asked (as a parent) is what that baby sitter will teach your child.
The great advantage for those who have the Internet at home (and I bet there are many) is that the games are now free games. As compared to the expenses at the game parlor, nowadays the Internet gives you free games of all kinds. All you have to do is pay for the Internet connection (and this is getting cheaper and cheaper by the day as more and more people get connected).
Free games can be found in many places on the Internet and all kinds of free games can be downloaded. For the parents who allow their children to spend time unsupervised in front of the computer thinking that they are just playing games it would be better to pay more attention which free games exactly are their children accessing.
Many of the free games contain violence and this is perhaps the most dangerous thing about the free games online. We call them free games because we do not have to pay money for them, but in fact these games come with a package. The free games can be paid for with the loss of the power of concentration of the children, in the best case. If the children spend too much time in front of the computer playing these amazing free games, they may literally end up being brainwashed, in the sense that the extended exposure to the kind of video and audio stimuli offered by the free games can lead to serious memory loss.
However, there are also positive aspects as well. Children can learn what a competition means. They can learn how to lose or win, how everything they want has to be earned through work, patience and perseverance. The physical aspect involves a development of reflexes and, sometimes, even focusing can improve. It is up to the parents and to the children to decide which of the many games online should be played.
We grew up with arcade games and our children will grow up with free games online. It si nothing weird about that. It should make us happy that they have opportunities we never had. They can learn from their experiences playing games online and it up to us to guide them to the best and healthiest offers.
The taste of the virtual competitions is never forgotten and this is because they feel so good. If something feels so good and doesn't harm anyone why not take advantage of it? Playing games online is one of those small pleasures in life, but playing free games is one of the biggest pleasures a child can have.

Integrate Fun and Learning with Online Games
With online games becoming the new well-liked hobby, it is no wonder why educators are taking learning to a different level. It's always been a frustrating job for parents to con their children into playing educational games. The last thing anyone wants to do is push their kids farther away from learning. Luckily, computer game creators have found a new way to open minds, without having to beg and bribe.
Currently, there are hundreds of free online games. From cards to learning ABC's there are many opportunities to learn while you play. No matter how old you or your children are, there are dozens of different online games to help you learn more about a particular subject. For example, if you have young children and want them to get excited about learning, you can easily download online games. Most of the time you are able to download games for free, although a simple registration may be required. However, the easiest way to find a legit site is to search on Google for "free online games."
The coolest part about this new form of educational entertainment is that there are specific games for different age groups. For instance, some websites such as Funschool.com break down the games into sections. If you are a preschooler, there are cartoon builders and rhyming games. There are also other sections for kindergarten and elementary school. This will hone your child's skills and allow them to have fun while they are doing it. The most important thing about this new form of education is that it teachers your child that learning should always be fun. This not only will stay in their head's as they get older, but they may also acquire a new love for a subject they wouldn't normally be interested in.
Luckily, even if you are older than a struggling preteen, there are also games for you to play. It is not uncommon for teenagers to have trouble grasping certain subjects in school. After all, we all struggle with Mathematics or History. It is impossible to be perfect at everything; therefore a free online game turns everything into smooth sailing. If you are preparing for the SATS, or just want to do better on a chemistry exam, Funbrain.com will help you out. This website allows you to download hundreds of games depending on what you need to learn. It is a great way to learn those chemistry equations, without having to sit down and study from the book. Nevertheless, it will be an easier way to force yourself to learn what you need.
No matter what happens in the internet world, the ability to play free online games will be here to stay. Everyone has always wanted to discover a new idea that will help children understand difficult concepts. Luckily, the breakthrough is finally taking a stand and as a result, more children are feeling confident about their abilities. It's a great feeling to know that computer games can actually integrate fun and learning into everyone's lives.

The PSP has been out for a few years now and anyone with a PSP will tell you that buying all the the PSP games, music and movies can get quite expensive. There are ways to save money though...
To save money you could download PSP games from the Internet. There are several websites out there that will let you download PSP games for free however most of these sites are usually just designed to infect your computer with spyware.
These freebie sites usually have very slow download speeds and can be very unreliable. If you are looking to download PSP games safely then there are sites out there that can be trusted.
There are plenty of websites that actually manage their databases of free PSP game downloads and they keep out all of the trouble makers.
These PSP game download sites usually charge a small fee but if you can find the right site the fee is very minimal. For under $50 you should be able to find a website that will let you download PSP games at very fast speeds.

Required Parts to Building a Gaming PC
If you are new to building your own custom gaming computer, this article will introduce you to the main components that make up a gaming PC. These components will be the guts of your gaming machine, so you need to choose them carefully. Starting with perhaps the most important part of any computer system:
CPU / Processor
The Central Processing Unit (also known as the processor) is considered the brains of a computer. It does all the mathematical calculations that the software asks it to. Without a decent CPU in your gaming PC, your games won't run very fast.
Motherboard
If the CPU is the brains of a computer, then the motherboard is the heart. All other components connect to the motherboard one way or another, so it acts as the hub of all the components in your PC. If you lack a good motherboard in your system, your gaming PC won't perform well no matter how good your other components are.
RAM
The RAM (Random Access Memory) in a computer is the memory that running programs rely on. The more RAM you put in your gaming PC, the faster your programs and games will run.
Hard Drive
The hard drive is used to store all your programs and data. You need a hard drive big enough to fit all your stuff on it, without it clogging up due to lack of room.
Graphics Card
The graphics card (also known as video card) will be one of the most important parts of your gaming PC. It is the component responsible for drawing all the 3D graphics and special effects that you see in the games you play. You need to get a good graphics card to be able to play the latest games in all their glory.
Case and Power Supply
Pretty self explanatory, the computer case houses all your precious little components under one roof. The power supply provides power to your PC. These two components are essential for a working gaming PC.
Conclusion
We have covered the main workhorse components that you will need to build your gaming PC with. You should also consider other components such as a sound card, networking card, and CD/DVD Drive, amongst others, to complete your gaming PC.
Check out Julien's website Build-Gaming-Computers.com for more information on building your own gaming PC.

Java Games The Many Genres for Your Mobile
Not so long ago, if you said you needed to make a phone call that meant going to the nearest land line phone. The phone could be used for nothing but placing calls and you couldn't take it with you. It wasn't until 1973 that the modern cell phone as we know it was born.
One of the best things about mobile phones is that you can play all sorts of games on them. Originally, they came with just the most basic games. Thanks to some wonderful inventors and technicians out there, we now have java games that have opened a whole new world in mobile gaming.
The most basic java games are strategy games. These are mainly solitary games like Mine Sweeper, Reversi or Bejeweled. There are also card games like solitaire and blackjack. They are fun and familiar to computer users and are a great way to occupy you while you wait for your appointment.
Then you have old favorite two dimensional action games like Pac Man and Galaxian. No more need to go to the arcade or pack your trusty old Atari or Family computer with these games in your phone. They can help take your mind of the long wait for your bus to arrive.
The best of the java games are in 3D. There is quite a variety to choose from. All you need to do is check what's available for your phone model. The next step is to download your chosen adventure.
What is your game? Do you love basketball? Would you like to be out on the green shooting a hole in one but can't because you're stuck at the dentist? If so, then you'll love the many java sports games available. Tiger Woods' PGA Golf Tours game can be quite a challenge and And1 Streetball will keep you on your toes and keep your mind off the upcoming root canal.
Want to catch some bad guys? Are you a soldier at heart? Then you'll love shoot'em up Java games like Metal Gear and Ghost Recon.
Maybe you just need to get your mind off your worries for a bit. How about playing some simulation games? You can do some Sim Fishing and catch the big one. How about taking a drive? Try out Freestyle Moto-X II or Driver Vegas and see how well you can control the wheel.
Why not go on an adventure just like in your favorite stories. Want to be a sorcerer or an elf? What kind of skills do you possess? Use them in the various role playing games (RPG) like Warhammer 40K or Bogor's Castle. There's no adventure like being around Ancient Ruins or a Forsaken Fortress.
You may even find a java game of your favorite movie or TV shows and be part of the team of Battle Star Galactica or Mission Impossible. There's even a java game of Miami Vice.
Some of these games even have a multiplayer option so that you can have an adventure with your friends, no matter if they live in your neighborhood or not. Just be careful not to get over enthusiastic and fall out of your seat.
